This project bridges the gap between environmental education and accessibility, ensuring deaf youth are equipped to be active contributors to climate resilience and sustainability in Pakistan, through accessible education, interactive sessions, and real-world exposure.

Progress

  • A two-week, in-person training program for 20 deaf youth
  • Climate Literacy Workshops delivered through sign language interpreters and visual tools
  • Green Economy and skills development sessions about becoming part of the green workforce
  • Field visits to green enterprises
  • Sign language development for climate vocabulary

Highlights

The enthusiasm and curiosity of the participants was really encouraging. Despite the complexity of the subject matter, the trainers effectively simplified concepts, and the interactive activities helped participants understand the issues in a practical and engaging way.

The project has sparked discussions around inclusive climate education and workforce development. We will build on this momentum by advocating for formal inclusion of deaf youth in green skills initiatives and policy dialogues.
