The British Council and Formula 1 are working together to inspire the next generation and open up a world of future career opportunities.
We are launching a new international education programme, Learning Sectors, which supports young people to develop the knowledge, skills, and passion for a career in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Our Learning Sectors programme will work with young people in 700 schools in the UK, Brazil, India and South Africa throughout 2025. Learners will take part in a range of science and technology activities to develop practical skills for future careers.
Young people will experience STEM in action through the experts at Formula 1, who will share insights from the world of sport and encourage learners to consider the careers it can offer.
Working as a team is integral to success within Formula 1, so Learning Sectors will teach young participants to work collectively across groups and borders by matching the schools in India, South Africa and the UK with a partner in one of the other countries and inviting the learners to collaborate. Technology and innovation also drive F1, so in Brazil, schools will take part in a coding challenge to get students excited about coding and develop their skills.
