This project advances sustainable waste management and inclusive community empowerment by converting durian and jackfruit peels into clean-burning biomass briquettes. It integrates scientific innovation with local knowledge to support climate resilience and circular economy practices in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, targeting young women and deaf students.

- Training for 40 women and Batik artisans, including 20 deaf women, for briquette making and use.
Highlights
The artisans reported that the briquettes are more affordable, environmentally friendly, and produce less smoke. They expressed strong interest in adopting the technology for both batik production and household cooking. There is also a prove strong market demand.
