Currently being developed between Glasgow, London, Nairobi and Addis, the Future Trends will be a forum for exchange between the UK and East African artists, designers, musicians, and thinkers.
Future Trends will explore new movements in fashion, design and styling in Kenya, Ethiopia, and the UK. Through installation, screenings, and discussion the project will showcase the potential of sustainable design practices, traditional craft skills and contemporary styling.
The Future Trends Portal will take the form of a physical and virtual space designed by Pidgin Perfect and curated by 2ManySiblings that will be installed at The Africa Centre in London, engaging new audiences in East African culture.
The British Council has awarded Future Trends Portal the New Art New Audiences grant
This project is in collaboration with Pidgin Perfect (Glasgow, UK), The Africa Centre (UK), 2ManySiblings (Kenya) and ZCAC Addis (Ethiopia), who will be creating a packed programme for the Future Trends Portal.
