In a time of information overload and biased algorithms, separating fact from fiction is harder than ever.
Join us for two connected Youth Connect Live sessions where we will focus on the complexities of online information disorder.
- Interview with the speaker: Wednesday 18 November, 12.00 to 12.30 (UK time)
- Follow-up question and answer session: Wednesday 25 November, 12.00 to 12.30 (UK time)
We will look at the differences between disinformation, misinformation, malinformation and at the barriers that make disinformation difficult to spot – as well as learn about some practical tools for detecting misleading content.
To help you prepare, here are some reflection prompts you may want to think about before joining. We would also love to hear your thoughts and questions – share them with us here.
- What were the last 3 disinformation / misinformation examples you saw?
- How could you stop disinformation/misinformation in your country? Where could you start from?
- What are you doing when a close family member/friend is spreading misinformation/disinformation? Is it easy not to get in a conflict?
