The Education World Forum (EWF), held annually in London, is the largest conference for education and skills ministers in the world.  The event offers three days of insight and inspiration from leading education pioneers, policy makers and education experts, with many of the sessions given by education ministers themselves as part of an honest assessment of countries’ common issues and challenges.

EWF is supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Department for Education (DfE), the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the British Council and the EWF industry partners.

The British Council works closely with education ministries to support attendance and ensure ministers get the most out of the experience.  We arrange policy briefings in advance and organise tailored programmes and meetings while delegations are in the UK.  We also assist with follow-up work when delegations return to their own countries. Our bespoke service provides additional context and depth in specific areas and supports ministers to put policy into practice.

The 2024 Education World Forum saw 122 ministers from 124 countries come together in London to explore topics around: encouraging AI understanding, building human relationships and resilience, and accelerating climate action. The 2025 Education World Forum takes place from 18 to 21 May.
