In the Brazilian higher education sector, there are many structural barriers to gender equality, from unconscious bias and non-transparent recruitment and promotion to limited mentoring support.

With funding from Going Global Partnerships, The University of Manchester worked with a network of 13 Brazilian higher education institutions to promote gender equality practices and bring about institutional change.

Through a new gender equality framework, supportive community of practice and open-access resources, the project is aiming to make gender equality not just a policy change but a lived institutional reality.
