Skills Partnership in Sustainable Construction with Morocco

The British Council is inviting suitably qualified UK further education colleges or training organisations to apply for the following opportunity.

The grant recipient will collaborate in an International Skills Partnership with peers in Morocco.

This is an excellent opportunity for a UK-based further education college or training organisation looking to build a network and capacity to work internationally. Successful applicants will be eligible for £25 000 of grant funding to support partnership activities (reciprocal visits to the UK and Morocco, staff time (limited to 30% of the grant), development of tools and resources, etc).

The selected UK-based skills organisation will collaborate with the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT) - the country’s largest TVET provider - and two centres from their national network of construction and public works institutes - ‘École Mohammed VI de Formation dans les Métiers du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics’ located near Casablanca and ‘Institut Spécialisé de Technologie Appliquée du BTP’, located near Rabat.

This partnership will support the development of new approaches to sustainable construction training. Partners will share knowledge and expertise in the areas such as:

  • Use of digital tools and technology in TVET delivery
  • Embedding sustainability and climate awareness in curricula
  • Attracting more women and girls to careers in sustainable construction
  • Green construction techniques and materials
  • Energy-efficient design and compliance with building regulations

The British Council teams in the UK and in Morocco will provide ongoing advice and guidance throughout the partnership to help facilitate communication and deliver maximum benefit.

The project will run for a duration of 12 months from the end of September 2025.

The call for proposals is part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships programme which builds stronger, more inclusive, internationally connected higher education and TVET systems by supporting partnerships between universities, colleges, education policy makers, civil society organisations and industry partners around the world.
