Showcase your college’s leadership in skills, innovation, and industry collaboration
The British Council is pleased to invite expressions of interest from UK TVET institutions interested in hosting the next Annual UK TVET Policy Seminar, our flagship TVET event that brings together college leaders, policymakers, industry partners, and international delegates to explore emerging priorities in the sector.
About the UK TVET Policy Seminar
The annual UK TVET Policy Seminar provides a forum for policy dialogue, institutional exchange, and showcases the best of the UK’s world-leading skills sector.
Each year, the event spotlights best practice in areas such as industry partnerships, green skills, and digital transformation, strengthening the UK’s global reputation as a leader in skills innovation. In 2026, we will explore how to deliver impactful future-ready TVET in an era defined by digital transformation and the rise of artificial intelligence.
- The seminar programme features:
- Insightful policy exchanges between UK and international governments
- Showcases leading-edge college–industry collaboration
- Interactive workshops on global skills challenges
- Opportunities for international partnership development
Opportunity for the Host College
Hosting the UK TVET Policy Seminar offers a unique opportunity for your institution to:
- Demonstrate national leadership in skills development and policy influence and engage with the international TVET community
- Showcase local and regional partnerships with industry, employers, and innovation hubs
- Welcome UK and international delegates to experience your facilities and share your expertise
- Gain visibility across the UK and international TVET network through event promotion and media coverage
According to previous hosts, City of Glasgow College, hosting the UK TVET Policy Seminar was “the perfect opportunity to showcase our world-class facilities and the expertise of our staff. More importantly, it offered immense value through high-level networking. Our Global Skills team has since enjoyed several very fruitful conversations with various international partners to progress initial discussions and further explore partnership working, leading to tangible outcomes for the college”.
The British Council will work with the selected host institution to design and deliver an interactive programme, integrating site visits, industry engagement, and knowledge exchange sessions.
Each year, we visit a different part of the United Kingdom, highlighting the unique approach to TVET taken by the four nations. For 2026, we particularly welcome expressions of interest from institutions based in England.
Please note, hosting is undertaken on an in-kind basis: British Council but do not offer a venue hire fee. Procurement of additional services such as event catering will be undertaken following standard procurement process on a paid-for basis following venue selection.
