Next Generation Brazil research
The Brazil edition of our flagship Next Generation research series will be launched on 20 October.
The research explores the needs, potential and aspirations of more than 3,000 young people, who were surveyed in areas as youth identity and resilience, education, career, employability, perceptions of the future and climate change. This consultative process with young people included voices of vulnerable youth and has resulted in a series of policy recommendations. As well as sharing key insights from the research, the launch event in São Paulo will also feature a climate literacy workshop for young people.

Climate Skills – Seeds for Transition
Our Climate Skills programme is preparing to showcase insights and impact at both COY20 and COP30.
In partnership with HSBC, the programme aims to ensure that vulnerable young people are not left behind in the transition to a net-zero economy. Across Brazil, Mexico, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, it promotes climate literacy and green economy skills to enhance employability. Young people contribute as advisors, evaluators and co-designers, helping peers understand, mitigate and adapt to climate change.
At COY20, the programme will present research findings from The Climate Connection Hive, showcase programme achievements and share beneficiary highlights in plenaries and panels. During COP30, beneficiaries and partners will share programme outcomes across panels focused on youth, climate education, green skills and employability.

The Gallery
Season five of the UK’s largest public art programme, The Gallery, is arriving in Brazil for the first time as part of the UK/Brazil Season of Culture.
The programme aims to provoke meaningful conversations through art, and to create, promote, and share artistic interpretations on the theme: ‘it is not easy to be green’. Sixteen selected works will be reproduced on a large scale and displayed to millions of people in public spaces originally reserved for advertising in cities across Brazil and the UK.

Preserving the Amazonia research panels
Between December 2025 and January 2026, a series of research panels will take place related to the Amazonia and climate change.
The panels will feature researchers from the UK, Brazil, Colombia and Peru, who developed projects through the International Science Partnerships Fund or Newton Fund, who will share their success and impact, including how they worked with local communities and how they exchanged knowledge between the UK and countries sharing the Amazon Biome.
Resilient Schools workshops
Building on ELT Week Brazil 2025, and working closely with the Brazilian Ministry of Education, a series of Resilient Schools workshops will take place in early 2026.
Due to happen in early 2026, the workshops will engage schools in the State of Pará to discuss and review their mission, vision and values in the face of climate change and the challenge of educating young people around heathy attitudes in the digital world.
