The Singaporean (SG) Youth Plan UK Edition, led by Luo Chen Jun, aimed to amplify female Singaporean youth voices, particularly from marginalized backgrounds, within the SG Youth Plan framework. The project connected UK-based alumni with local youth through virtual dialogues, mentorship, and advocacy, aligning with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 17 (Partnerships). Key activities included a virtual dialogue with 55 participants (~65% female), consolidation of youth feedback into a report for the National Youth Council, and stakeholder engagement for an upcoming in-person showcase. Mentorship pairings were established, supporting career guidance, while digital storytelling raised awareness of female changemakers. The project strengthened partnerships between alumni, the British Council, and local student societies. Lessons learned highlight the importance of intersectional outreach, mentorship for sustained impact, and digital storytelling to extend visibility and engagement.
"This project showed me how intentional partnerships can translate youth voices into policy influence. By exemplifying marginalized female perspectives through mentorship and dialogue, we strengthened both community confidence and cross-sector collaboration in advancing gender equality." - Chen Jun
