Help shape a global community for climate action

Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time, affecting communities, cultures and ecosystems across the world. While its impacts are global, meaningful responses are often rooted in local knowledge, collective action and the creativity of communities themselves.

The Climate Action Community of Practice brings together a diverse network of UK Alumni committed to driving climate action through cultural, creative and community-based approaches. We are seeking passionate leaders to join the Steering Group and help shape this growing global network.

About the Community of Practice

The Community of Practice (CoP) is a global network of UK Alumni engaged in climate action that is cultural, creative and community based.

We will be opening the community of practice for Alumni UK members to join later this year.

Our purpose

  • Strengthen the impact of climate action by Alumni UK members.
  • Build connections with climate activists worldwide.
  • Share knowledge and good practice.
  • Build capacity across the network.

We support climate action that:

  • Is grounded in local knowledge and practice.
  • Strengthens communities.
  • Uses arts, storytelling and heritage to inspire change.

  • Organise events and initiatives.
  • Design and lead activities aligned with CoP aims.
  • Engage and support members.
  • Contribute to communications and outreach.
  • Represent the CoP with external stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in a vibrant international community. You will build connections with like-minded individuals and organisations and contribute to strengthening a collective voice on climate action.

Commitment

  • 12–14 Steering Group members.
  • Up to 2-year term.
  • Around 2 hours per week.
  • Monthly Steering Group meetings.
  • Bi-monthly CoP gatherings.
