Alumni UK Grants 2026–27: Supporting alumni-led change around the world
Discover how international alumni of UK education are turning ideas into action through projects addressing climate change, sustainability, inclusion and inequality.
The British Council's Alumni UK Grants programme is supporting 61 alumni-led projects across 15 countries, helping international graduates of UK education make a positive difference in their communities.
Following a competitive application and selection process, funding has been awarded to projects under two themes:
- Climate Action and Sustainability – 35 projects, supporting innovative and locally relevant responses to environmental challenges.
- Inclusion, Reducing Inequality and Empowerment – 26 projects, creating opportunities, addressing barriers and supporting more inclusive communities.
Together, these projects demonstrate the creativity, expertise and commitment of UK alumni working to address challenges in their countries.
Local ideas, global impact
From environmental education and community-led sustainability initiatives to projects promoting equal opportunities, skills development and social inclusion, the selected projects reflect a wide range of approaches to creating positive change.
Some focus on raising awareness and changing behaviours, while others bring people together, develop practical solutions or create opportunities for groups facing barriers and disadvantage.
What connects them is a shared commitment to using the knowledge, skills and international perspectives gained through UK education to make a difference.
Through the grants programme, Alumni UK is supporting alumni to put their ideas into practice, strengthen connections and contribute to meaningful change in their communities.
