The Climate Action Community of Practice (CoP) brings together projects addressing climate challenges in innovative ways - from sustainable agriculture and clean energy to digital storytelling and women’s empowerment.

These projects were enabled through British Council funding, and the CoP provides a platform for knowledge-sharing, mutual support, and collaboration to strengthen inclusive climate action through Alumni UK networks.

While each project is unique, all share a common goal: to strengthen inclusive communities and foster meaningful climate action through the Alumni UK network.

Aims of the CoP

  • Build knowledge and capacity of Alumni UK members to engage in inclusive and effective climate action.
  • Facilitate sharing, learning, and mutual support among grant project teams.
  • Generate insights and ideas on inclusive climate action and the Just Transition.
  • Foster lasting relationships among Alumni UK members as part of a global Community of Practice.
  • Enhance understanding of how best to support climate action through the UK Alumni network.

The CoP is currently exclusive to project teams during the implementation of the projects. Plans to broaden participation will be shared as they are confirmed.

If you are a UK alumni specialising in climate action and would be interested in joining the CoP in the future, please feel free to express your interest via alumniuk.team@britishcouncil.org
