Higher education institutions partnered with social enterprises in all 12 of the countries and territories surveyed in these studies. So what were the benefits and challenges for students, faculty, social enterprises and universities?

The British Council worked with SERIO and Futures at Plymouth University on a series of studies that examined the benefits and challenges of partnership between higher education institutions and social enterprises in 12 countries and territories. These were:

  • Canada
  • East India
  • Greece
  • Hong Kong
  • Kenya
  • Mexico
  • Pakistan
  • Slovenia
  • South Africa
  • Thailand
  • UK
  • US state of California

These studies complement an earlier global report called Social Enterprise in a Global Context: The Role of Higher Education Institutions (see link below) that examines the findings from all 12 these reports.
