The British Council’s Agent Quality Framework (AQF) agency management course is for international education agencies who recruit students for UK education providers. The course is designed to strengthen the AQF by providing all major agencies, their leaders and compliance managers with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the framework and its principles, so that they can build the code of conduct into their day-to-day work.

Developed in collaboration with the lead sector agencies involved in the design of the AQF, the training is 100% online and free of charge.

The pilot phase of the course launch is complete and we are currently evaluating feedback from this phase, so we can roll out the course fully later this year.

Access to the course will depend upon the following criteria:

  • one individual must be nominated on behalf of the agency to take the course – this individual must represent the parent company and not a branch office, and should be the person responsible for visa and compliance
  • this individual must be endorsed by a member of the agency’s leadership team – the endorser and the applicant cannot be the same person, and the endorser must be the owner, chief executive or company director
  • the agency must provide names of the three or more UK education providers they have formal contracts with – these providers must be listed on the register of licensed student sponsors
  • the agency must be able to provide its own legal name as well as its trading name, if it is different.

There is only one place allocated for each agency, if your agency has multiple branches, this must be the person responsible for your visa and compliance processes at your head office.

Certificates will be provided to agencies that pass the assessments within the agency management course, which can be shared with the education providers it works with.
