The British Council’s Agent Quality Framework (AQF) agency management course is for international education agencies who recruit students for UK higher education providers. The course is designed to strengthen the AQF by providing all major agencies, their leaders and compliance managers with sufficient knowledge and understanding of the framework and its principles, so that they can build the code of conduct into their day-to-day work.

Developed in collaboration with the lead sector agencies involved in the design of the AQF, the training is 100% online and free of charge.

In the first instance, the agency management course will be exclusive to major agencies who have formal contracts in place with more than three UK higher education providers on the register of licensed student sponsors.

The British Council is rolling this course out in phases and in phase one, which is open now, agencies who wish to access the course will need to meet the following criteria:

  • one individual must be nominated on behalf of the agency to take the course – this individual must represent the parent company and not a branch office
  • this individual must be endorsed by a member of the agency’s leadership team
  • the agency must provide names of the three or more UK higher education providers they have formal contracts with – these providers must be listed on the register of licensed student sponsors
  • the agency must be able to provide its own legal name as well as its trading name, if it is different.

Certificates will be provided to agencies that pass the assessments within the agency management course, which can be shared with the higher education providers it works with. Please note that we will not publish a list of agencies who have completed the course.
