International mobility of students, research and education provision

The 'Shape of Global Higher Education (Volume 2)' considers the policy environment in a total of 38 countries and the extent to which national systems support international collaboration in higher education.

This volume builds on the findings of The Shape of Global Higher Education, introducing 12 new countries to the study and has developed a way of considering the measures from the perspective of a higher education institution – student mobility; research and researcher mobility; programme and provider mobility, ie transational education (TNE).

  • Higher education is becoming increasingly collaborative in nature.
  • Collaboration in higher education is a policy preoccupation for many national systems.
  • Internationalisation of higher education is viewed as an indication of wider relevance on the global stage.
