Ukrainian Language and Culture Education Pack and 3 sunflowers

The Ukrainian Language and Culture Education Pack helps teachers bring elements of Ukrainian life into the classroom. You will find lesson plans, assembly ideas, background information and ready-to-use resources that introduce pupils to the richness of Ukraine’s language and culture.

The materials are flexible and easy to adapt for different settings. Use them to spark individual lessons and assemblies, or weave them into larger cross-curricular projects. Pupils can try greeting a friend in Ukrainian, get hands-on by making paper sunflowers, and explore a wide range of traditions and cultural highlights from Ukraine.

The pack is designed for pupils aged 7-11 year olds, but could be adapted for 11-13 year olds. It was produced by the British Council with support from the Ukrainian Institute and funded by the UK Government as part of the UK-Ukraine school partnerships programme.

The UK-Ukraine School Partnerships programme is funded by the UK Government, in support of the 100-Year Partnership between the UK and Ukraine. The 100-Year Partnership is an ambitious, long-term commitment to broaden and deepen the bilateral relationship across defence, trade and other areas and enable closer community links between both countries. The UK-Ukraine School Partnerships Programme is the flagship education offer for the 100-Year Partnership, signalling the UK’s support for fostering cross-cultural understanding among pupils, teachers and wider school communities and to help bring international awareness into classrooms.
