At the British Council we put child protection first in everything we do, from designing centres to developing apps.
All our teachers must pass child protection checks
They must pass these checks before they start teaching with us.
- Teachers from the UK must pass a UK Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.
- Teachers from other countries must provide an enhanced disclosure from that country.
- Teachers joining the British Council must also acquire a police check from their current country of residence.
- Both teachers and non-teaching members of our staff undertake child protection training.
