Food is more than flavour — it’s memory, culture, and connection. This World Food Day, the British Council Libraries invite you to take part in Global bites: a culinary journey, a digital video challenge that celebrates the diversity of cuisines and the rich stories behind them.

What’s the challenge?

We want to see your love for food on camera! Create a short, engaging vlog (max 2 minutes) about your favourite dish — whether it’s a family recipe passed down through generations, a street-food delicacy from your hometown, or a personal comfort food.

Bring your dish alive by sharing:

  • Its story and cultural significance
  • Any interesting history behind it
  • Why it’s meaningful to you

The more visually creative and engaging your storytelling, the better!
