International Women’s Day

This year, International Women's Day is on 8 March 2023 with the theme #EmbraceEquity.

The British Council recognises that change is needed to support women and girls’ awareness, capacities and abilities, and to create opportunities and an enabling environment for empowerment.

While we celebrate the achievements of women and girls on International Women's Day, bringing gender equality and equity into the classroom is the work of every day. We have a range of resources and training opportunities to support you in your work tackling issues around gender.
