About the project

The British Council is seeking to further its work in and contribution to English for Interfaith Dialogue (EID). The project aims to create three digital modules, providing an introduction to the field of EID aimed at teachers and to also complement the existing curricula and print materials for students.

The project aims to reach teachers working globally with teenagers and young adults in education and will focus on Mainstreaming Dialoguing in the ELT classroom.

The nine hours content will be organized into three three-hour modules focused on Critical thinking, Culture and Diversity.

About the role

This role will require working remotely to support the content developer and the reversioner in creating engaging, clear and cohesive content that will maximize the stated learning outcomes while maintaining the tone, style and pitch of British Council online modules on the Thinking Cap digital learning platform. The role will require frequent review meetings with both the project manager, the material developer and the reversioner, as well as oversight and review of the audio visual (AV) assets produced.

The editor will oversee the materials developer who will produce the content and a reversioner who will support with scripts and storyboards for the AV assets required for the project that will be produced by an external production company.

Package

The editor will receive a fee depending on their experience, with a daily rate paid. No travel or accommodation will be required or paid as part of this consultancy   

Timeline

The total days for supporting and guiding the development of the modules with the content developer and the reversioner are 10 days.  The days allocated for review of scripts, storyboards and final asset production are five days.

Qualifications and experience required

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject 
  • Experience of an editorial role for digital content with the British Council or a similar organisation.
  • Proficiency in English (Essential) 
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience of working on collaborative projects to deliver outcomes to agreed quality standards and within agreed timeframes
