Join us for an engaging, interactive session designed to deepen your understanding of environmental sustainability and spark meaningful local action.

Led by Samuel Leivy Opa, Regional Advisor at Seasoldier Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia and featured in 90 Youth Voices, a British Council initiative this session will spotlight real-life examples of youth and community-led environmental efforts. Through a mix of visual storytelling and dialogue, you'll explore how everyday actions—when combined—can drive long-term change.

We’ll also be joined by author Soham De, co-founding director of EcoResponsive Environments who will offer insights from his book EcoResponsive Environments, expanding the discussion to eco-conscious living and sustainable design in broader contexts.

We will explore:

  • Understanding environmental sustainability and why it matters
  • Key challenges today: waste, pollution, ecosystem degradation
  • How communities and young leaders are making a difference
  • A close-up look at Seasoldier’s initiatives: coastal clean-ups, mangrove and coral restoration, and grassroots education
  • What you can do: everyday actions that contribute to a more sustainable world
  • Explore digital library resources on sustainability—books, documentaries, magazines, and journals at your fingertips

Session outcomes:

  • A clearer picture of environmental issues—globally and locally
  • Real-world examples of how youth and communities are leading change
  • Practical ideas to start or support your own eco-projects
  • A sense of shared purpose and collaboration toward a more sustainable future
