The British Council is commissioning a consultancy service to develop online technical assistance that supports the internationalisation of Peruvian higher education, generating insights and connections for inter-institutional collaboration, research areas and policy innovation between Peruvian and UK institutions.
Peruvian higher education (HE) has undergone six years of reform and is moving towards a broader approach for the development of research and academic management, placing research collaboration and internationalisation at the heart of a new development framework. This has been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, placing challenges on the reform process and accelerating the need for distance education at public and private universities across the nation.
The consultancy aims to support Peruvian HE leaders and policy makers in the development of strategies, regulatory frameworks and the implementation of actions on internationalisation, research, hybrid education and access to HE. The idea is that this will strengthen the connection and collaboration between HE institutions from Peru and UK, and contribute to the implementation of the priorities within the framework of the National Policy for HE.
The Consultant(s) should develop online technical assistance and consultancy work focusing on the following subjects:
1. Internationalisation of Peruvian higher education: diagnostic (considering previous studies and diagnostics), road map (identifying potential pilots and cases of success), indicators, connections with UK. This theme will include distance education, relevant in the post Covid-19 scenario and a key element for internationalisation.
2.Generating insights and connections for focused interinstitutional collaboration, research areas and innovation between Peruvian and UK institutions. The themes will include comparative approaches, validation, and sharing good practices in widening access policies to HE. Connections for future collaboration with key Higher Education Institutions (i.e. Cambridge, Oxford, UCL among others).
