About the project
Teach, Engage, Aspire (TEA) is a multilevel beneficiary three-year programme that aims at building the capacity of the English Language sector in Egypt through developing the English language skills of teachers and teacher educators, raising their awareness of global and environmental issues, and enabling them to embed best practices in their teaching.
The programme aims at supporting the education system in Egypt in preparing a generation of lifelong learners and educators, covering diverse geographical areas through an active partnership between the British Council and the two main formal education systems in Egypt (Ministry of Education and Al-Azhar) to improve standards of the teaching, learning and assessment of English.
The delivery model involves training Teacher Educators who will cascade training through existing Teacher Activity Groups (TAGs). TAGs which were set-up in 2019 will continue to be the key CPD model as it enables working at scale and provides a sustainable model of learning exchange through communities of practice.
A tailored teacher development curriculum using British Council’s English for Teaching, Teaching for Success modules and Climate Action in Language Education will be developed and delivered.
