Welcome to the dedicated section of the British Council site for UK education providers who are working with international education agents and counsellors.
Here at the British Council we appreciate the valuable role played by education agents and counsellors to support international students on their journey to the UK and ensure they have an outstanding international student experience. We also understand the potential challenges and opportunities presented by working with education agents.
We are committed to working closely with the whole UK education sector (including universities, colleges, schools and English language providers) to strengthen the relationships between institutions and education agents, helping to position the UK as a premier study destination for international students.
The British Council has been an integral part of a joint working group (alongside BUILA, UKCISA and UUKI) tasked with developing a Quality Assurance Framework for how institutions and education agents can best work together. We understand that all institutions work with education agents in different ways within the constraints of their resources and individual strategies. The framework is not intended to be proscriptive regulation, rather a set of guidelines to support partnerships and enhance quality across the sector.
