Role overview
About the project
TeachingEnglish is the British Council’s website for teachers of English, attracting a global audience of over 5 million teachers and teacher educators. As part of our approach to professional development, we provide opportunities to engage with experts in the field of English Language Teaching in many ways, including via live online events, publications, articles and practical teaching materials.
Our new podcast series will build on this work, contributing to our engagement by offering accessible professional development to diverse audiences working in different contexts.
Through interviews with practitioners working around the world, this ten-part podcast series will explore some of the current issues that teachers face in English language teaching globally. Each episode should be focused on solutions to some of the big questions in education. Taking a global view, we aim to focus on English language teaching in different contexts from around the world, highlighting what is important in those contexts, identifying some of the similarities and differences in how English teaching is delivered. We will be picking out some of the innovations that are being used in education systems globally, as well as focusing on some of the bigger global issues and how they are integrated into language teaching.
