Role overview

About the project

The British Council is seeking to further its work in and contribution to Education in Emergencies (EiE), focusing on its Language for Resilience professional practices for teachers working with migrants and refugees in education. Under the set of professional practices, Mobilising Educational Technology is an area we wish to develop further. This project will focus on identifying eight possible modules of study for teachers, from which three will be selected as a priority for this phase of the project for development. The project aims to reach primary and secondary teachers working globally with migrants and refugees in education and will focus on three broad areas (which can/will further be divided as necessary) as articulated by the World Economic Forum:

  • Digital citizen identity: the ability to build and manage a healthy identity online and offline with integrity
  • Digital empathy: the ability to show empathy towards one’s own and others’ needs and feelings online
  • Critical thinking: the ability to distinguish between true and false information, good and harmful content, and trustworthy and questionable contacts online

These outcomes will be organized into three modules of three units each, one hour per unit as a self-access study curriculum. The reversioner will be responsible for developing scripts and storyboards in collaboration with the materials developer to support learning and be guided by an editor.

About the role

This role will require working remotely to develop the agreed scripts and storyboards that support the learning outcomes of each module for animated AV assets for review by the materials developer, before these are sent to production.

This role is considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on digital learning and instructional design, who will be able to produce scripts and storyboards based on the descriptions provided by the SME and produced externally.

Package - The editor will receive a fee depending on their experience, with a daily rate paid. No travel or accommodation will be required or paid as part of this consultancy

Timeline for Consultant - The total days for supporting and guiding the development of the modules with the content developer and the reversioner are ten. The days allocated for review of scripts, storyboards and final asset production are five.
