About the project
Skills for Employability Programme (SEP) is a four year programme aiming to support effective and productive vocational skills systems and to create national employment for young people through supply and demand focused interventions including innovative skills provision, and support to migrant workers. The programme will adopt a market-based approach and be driven by innovation, evidence and value for money. The first phase (two years) will be piloting new ideas to determine the most cost effective interventions and the second phase (two years) will scale these up.
About the roles
The experts will be responsible for various thematic areas under Component II of the DFID SEP - Migration for Development. Main outcomes of the component include increasing incomes and improving savings and investment of migrant workers.
All appointments are subject to the contract being awarded to the consortium via a competitive tendering exercise.
General requirements for each position are as follows:
1. relevant university degree
2. at least ten years' experience in a relevant field
3. recent experience in relevant projects in South Asia, preferably in Nepal.
Positions | Specific Requirements |
Migration Specialist |
- Experience in migration for development projects in developing countries. - Experience in models of increasing net income of migrants and productive investments of remittances. - Experience in wage increment of migrant workers through skills development and mutual recognition of skills standards and qualifications. - Experience of working with returnee migrants. |
Short Term Migration Economist |
- Experience in migration for development projects in developing countries. - Experience in models of increasing net income of migrants and productive investments of remittances. |
