Whether you are part of a local authority, a cluster, an Education Action Zone or any other grouping of schools in England, we would be interested in hearing from you to talk about the possibility of developing an area link with an equivalent grouping overseas.
Why link in this way? Our experience has shown that by linking strategically with a group of schools in your local region with a similar group of schools overseas, the initiation and development of long-term sustainable links at both macro and micro level is greatly facilitated, together with a ready-made support network in your local area to share experiences and good practice with.
We can fund initial area-linking visits to the partner country for interested groups to get an area link up and running.
Where possible, the visit group should ideally include:
The EAZ/International Co-ordinator and/or MFL Adviser (Primary/Secondary as relevant) |
Other relevant EAZ/Local Authority staff |
And, if appropriate, one/two relevant teachers or headteachers from schools involved in initialising the link and/or with the capability of/responsibility for acting as multipliers. |
By the end of the visit, we expect a formal area linking agreement to have been drafted and signed by both parties. This should include an outline plan of activity for future collaboration, which may include:
School links |
School exchange visits and/or joint curriculum projects |
eTwinning |
CPD links and seminars |
ITT |
Any other relevant activities |
