The programme supports curriculum and professional development and sustainable school links with Russia. Our Anglo Russia programme reflects the growing interest within the secondary education sector for the teaching of Russian and enhanced school-based partnerships with Russia.
Schools may apply for one or more of the following activities of the programme, funded by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES):

We can provide grants to support schools undertaking Joint Curriculum Projects Electronic Linking or Special Interest Projects (in subject areas such as arts, drama, geography, history, ICT, music or sport).
These projects can take different forms, for example, some may require the mobility of teaching staff, involve large numbers of students over an extended period, adopt a cross curricular approach or support the participation of a cluster of schools.
The maximum grant available is unlikely to exceed £5000.

The Russian immersion course gives English students a chance to use their language skills in an authentic environment, and gain an insight into Russian culture. It consists of language lessons on site in the mornings, and cultural activities in the afternoons.
The 2007 Russian immersion course will take place from 19 October to 4 November 2007 (depending on flight schedules) and is based in Sochi or Yaroslavl. learning-school-partnerships-joint-curriculum-projects-guidelines-07-14.doc

If you are a teacher in England and interested in spending one to two weeks in a Russian school undertaking professional research projects or developing curriculum materials, then an Anglo-Russian Teacher Fellowship is for you.
Fully qualified language teachers and teachers of other subjects from primary and secondary schools, both maintained and independent, are welcome to apply. Applications from teachers in Sixth Form colleges or in colleges of Further Education will also be considered.
A grant of up to £1000 can be awarded towards travel costs, accommodation, subsistence, and a contribution towards supply is available. Please note that as this is a professional visit it is not possible for teachers to be accompanied by family members, friends or partners during the visit
The research project must be linked to an area of professional interest and be of benefit to the school’s development plan. Examples of research projects previously undertaken include: Linguistic Interaction in French Schools; The use of ICT across the curriculum; A Comparative Study of Boys’ Underachievement in Two Capital Cities and the Factors influencing their Attainment.
