China competition for primary school students aged 7-11

The China competition for primary school students aged 7-11, supported by CHINA NOW and the HSBC Global Education Programme, offered UK primary schools the opportunity to win £5,000 to support their existing partnership with China. The competition was open to all UK primary schools with an existing link with a school in China. Schools were asked to submit a PowerPoint presentation on the theme of “What we have found out about our friends in China”.

An independent adjudication panel met in January 2009 to review the competition entries and the following schools were awarded prizes:

First place: Bedewell Primary School, South Tyneside
Second place: Brumby Junior School, North Lincolnshire
Third place: Saint Augustine Webster Catholic Primary School, North Lincolnshire
