Lead a study visit to Germany

Would you like to lead a group of UK students on a study visit to Germany?

'German pupil courses' are offered by the UK-German Connection for Year 10 and Year 12 students, and you can travel with them. Information on the courses can be found on the German pupil courses page. If you are interested in being involved as a leader please have a look at the following details of responsibilities during the visit, the benefits to you, and how to apply.

What are the duties and responsibilities?

responsibility for the welfare of 12 UK pupils, accompanying the group to and from Germany
provision of 1-2 hours of tuition every day
provide assistance to the German organiser in running the programme

What are the benefits?

professional development, both of language and organisational skills
two weeks’ immersion in German language and culture
insight into German school life

Who can apply?
UK teachers with experience of teaching German up to ‘A’ Level (or equivalent).

What funding is available?
All expenses, including travel and insurance, board and lodging with a German host family, are paid. Group leaders will receive an honorarium plus contingency funds to cover course-related costs. Travel will be arranged.
