Supported by HSBC Global Education Trust and managed by the British Council, this programme aims to develop partnerships between areas of England and Wales and their Chinese counterparts – providing a strategic framework for school partnership within the authority. Three partnerships will be funded each year for a period of three years. In order to apply for this funding you must have an existing partner in China. Funding is available for teachers and headteachers to undertake short visits to a partner school in China to set up a curriculum based partnership or develop an existing link. Groups of up to ten individuals representing a district or cluster of schools may apply as a group.

Funding is available for schools to take part in collaborative projects with their Chinese partner in a range of subjects, including sport, art and music. An excellent way to enrich the international dimension in the curriculum, the grant can be used for travel, accommodation and related project costs as well as electronic links.
Grant available: up to £5,000 per year.

The immersion course allows groups of students and teachers from schools in England to embark on a two-week intensive course in China, enabling both linguistic and cultural immersion.
