SUPPORT FUNDS FOR SCHOOL LINKING VISITS

If your school already has a link with a Chinese school, teachers and headteachers can apply for funding to visit their partner school in China to develop the link.  A grant of £1000 per school is available to contribute towards flights, subsistence and accommodation.  Arrangements and the programme for the visit should be agreed directly with the partner school in China, but the British Council can assist with communication if needed.

Visits can take place throughout the year until 31 March 2008.

Headteacher visits
Headteacher visits provide an opportunity for groups of Headteachers or members of Senior Management Teams to visit China to establish new school links with a school in China. Potential partner schools are identified in advance by British Council China and a week-long programme is arranged including meetings with the Education Authority and time spent in the partner school.

A grant of up to £1000 per person is available to contribute towards the costs of flights, subsistence and accommodation.

A group visit to Shandong took place in October 2007 and details of future Headteacher visits will be posted here when available.

If you would like to register your interest in a Headteacher visit or have any queries please e-mail  fiona.fisher@britishcouncil.org.

Currently, there is no intention for HSBC to continue supporting this scheme.
