Update on situation in Libya
28 February 2011
All of our UK contracted staff and their family members have now been safely withdrawn from Libya to the UK. We are continuing to provide them with support and assistance.
We are in regular contact with our Libyan staff, all of whom are safe and well.
The safety of our staff and customers is our priority and, for this reason, our work in Libya remains suspended. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and hope to resume operations in Libya as soon as it is safe to do so.
British Council work in Libya includes English language teaching, skills training, the school linking programme Connecting Classrooms, and projects that create links between UK and Libyan higher education institutions.
