27 July 2012
The British Council's Director of Strategy, John Worne, appeared on CNN International's World Report on Friday 27 July 2012, discussing the role of the London 2012 Games in promoting the UK overseas.
"There’s so much more to this than sport. The sport is going to be absolutely fantastic but it’s also the international legacy. There’s been a huge programme all around the world – 12 million young people in 20 countries, all getting access to top-class sport as a result of these Games. There’s the cultural legacy, the wrap-around of all the culture and arts that we’re going to have from all around the world. There’s the educational legacy – we’ve got 3,500 UK schools connected to schools from all around the world.”
