Swap Mascots To experience education in a different country and further pupils' understanding of global citizenship, Wilma Gordon of Mid Calder Primary School (Scotland) twinned up with Ecole Antoine Pizon (France) to swap mascots. A Scottish teddy and a French cockerel went on reciprocal exchanges, allowing pupils to experience life in each other's country.
Paint and draw When Saints and Scholars Integrated Primary School (Northern Ireland) decided to look at the difference and similarities between Christmas festivities in different countries, they twinned up with Zespół Szkół nr 2 w Czerwionce (Poland) and Scoala CU Clasele I-VIII (Romania). Pupils prepared paintings and drawings of traditional Christmas Trees and cards with traditional Christmas wishes which they sent to each other.
Make a presentation Stonehenge School (England) twinned up with Peter-Henlein-Realschule (Germany) for their first eTwinning project to explore and promote better intercultural communication. Both English and German students worked in groups of 4 to 6 and made presentations, sharing them via the Twinspace, dealing with the topics: My Hometown; The Area we live in; Holidays; Saving the Environment; Our School; Sports in our Area; Entertainment and Our Everyday Food.
Practice language skills Wanting to further understanding of each other’s language and culture, Adel Primary School (England) twinned up with Ceip Los Guindos (Spain) Basing their joint project on sport, pupils used the secure etwinning email, chat and blog facilities to develop both their language skills and build relationships with one another by writing and emailing in their partner's language.
Create a Blog To further both their ICT Skills and explore more about Global Citizenship, pupils from Kirkwall School in Grammar School (Scotland) twinned up with Realschule Am Salinensee (Germany) to describe and share, local cultural experiences and aspects of the pupils’ own lives via the use of personal Blog pages. Share Audio With the aim of exploring how Podcasting could be used as a medium for learning, Sackville School (England) twinned up with partners in France, Spain and Italy. The project not only enabled students to get hands on with recording and mixing techniques, they also learned about history, interviewing members of the local community.
Make a Video Burnham Market Primary School (England) twinned up with Slottsbrun Skola (Sweden) to explore, compare and contrast perspectives on Viking history between the two countries. The project involved 30 UK and 50 Swedish students aged between 9-12 and culminated in the joint creation of a video story called "Erik the Viking
