PROJECT OUTLINE

The pupils think out and draw funny logical mathematical tasks and send the tasks to partner-schools.

USE OF ICT WITHIN THE PROJECT

Lunch time club to use computers and internet facilities in school. Additional software: Swish Max, MS Office, Openoffice.org, Audacity, Making the news. Maths and ICT staff advise pupils.

RESULTS AND BENEFITS

Great motivational benefits for the pupils in a school which is currently placed as failing. The pupils want to show the EU schools the best of their abilities despite the image of the school. The pupils show increased interest in learning and spend additional time at home to develop ideas and ICT presentations. Having only one PC at the start of the project, the school is buying more machines with appropriate software and hardware for video conferencing etc

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID

“A project which has huge potential to bridge areas of the curriculum”.
“Good use of home ICT where appropriate and the project has spurred action to equip better”
