Back to School with eTwinning
A range of eTwinning activity between January and February 2008

Building on last year’s successful campaign, we are delighted to announce a new UK Back to School campaign from 15 January-15 February 2008 to coincide with the Comenius deadline for School Partnerships.

eTwinning and Comenius teams from across the UK are now working together as part of the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme (2007-2013) providing double the benefit: Comenius gives a structured funding framework for school partnerships whilst eTwinning is a flexible, easy to use tool for developing ICT communication and as preparation for your European curriculum project.

eTwinning is recognised across Europe as an excellent ICT tool for schools which:

Creates virtual joint curriculum projects across European schools with an ICT focus
Can support Continuing Professional Development
Enhances your ICT skills with the resources available
Provides an effective partner finding/school linking forum
Enables you to evaluate your project and apply for prizes
Is ideal for either complete beginners or experienced practitioners in the European dimension
Has a complete package of free resources

Comenius Deadline 15 February 2008

By registering your new or existing Comenius partners on the eTwinning portal, you will have access to a communicative and collaborative tool to help and develop your Comenius application up to the deadline of 15 February or until your project is approved, and even throughout its two year duration. Importantly, eTwinning also acts as an

ICT tool central to your management of the Comenius project for both the students and staff providing a safe controlled environment and can enhance, support and even act as an evaluation tool for your project if you use the progress card

If you are new to eTwinning and would like to get involved, register your school and look for a partner on the eTwinning portal www.etwinning.net.

Once you have registered a partner or partners, you can access a wealth of online tools and resources to enable you to work together on a variety of themes.

As with the Back to School campaign last September, there will be a prize draw for all UK schools registering an eTwinning partnership during this period. The lucky school pulled from the hat will receive an INSET course on using clay animation in eTwinning projects from Animation for Education-www.animationforeducation.co.uk.
