Helen Baxter
Helen Baxter My school is currently twinning with two schools in France; one in Nice and one in Le Val St Pere. The first is a project called fairy tales and legends in Europe, which we hoping to make a Comenius project, and the other is called sharing Europe. We are also currently aiming to twin with a school in Egypt too.
The projects are all multi-media and the children are all extremely excited about making contact with other children around the world and practising their IT and language skills in real situations. What could be greater than that?

Moncef Fakhfakh
moncef fakhfajk I have set up a platform on Ning for my Comenius project which involves 11 partner countries. They are all contributing to the platform. Eventually student voice will take over the platform to disseminate good practice from all the schools and to share cultures. All of the partners have joined up and started to post photos, music, videos etc. This is strengthening the friendship before the partnership starts in earnest. I am also an SSAT Lead Practitioner and will share and disseminate good numeracy practice across all academies in this country via Etwinning.

I am a teacher at Shaw Wood Primary School in Doncaster. We have been involved in a number of highly successful and innovative European and International projects. In 2006 Ofsted praised the school for  ‘First class international links.’ A year later we achieved the International School Award.

Currently, we are eTwinned with a school in Sweden and are using a variety of ICT tools within the project including PowerPoint, Garageband, video, animation, vokiand wiki.

Ruth Royce
Ruth Royce I am currently teaching in a small-ish primary school just outside York where our two eTwinning projects are well under way! As MFL coordinator for our cluster of schools, I have promoted eTwinning as a way for children to learn new languages and all about new cultures (as well as learning new things about their own!). As of April 2008, I will be taking on a new role as Primary Consultant in English for North Yorkshire LA. In this role, I hope to encourage schools to use eTwinning as a way to make learning real and fun and as a tool for developing children's communication skills through the variety of methods technology affords us. eTwinning is an excellent way to show children how language and literature grow out of the cultures we live in - if anyone needs a hand with setting up projects, etc, then let me know!

I have been involved in etwinning for 3 years with our partner school in Malaga Spain. Our latest project, ‘A Bridge for Peace’ included joint curricular work in art, music, literacy and technology. We created a website to receive our messages and we also use a blog for the children to communicate with each other.

The highlight of the partnership is the annual visit with our Year 6 children to their partners in the Malaga school. We take part in joint curriculum and cultural activities. The collaborative study of Picasso – his life and works – produces some high quality art work and the children’s foreign language skills are greatly enhanced by the etwinning experience
