What benefits has running an international link through ICT brought to your school?

We are not just asking simple questions, we are truly collaborating, investigating and experiencing.

Specialist areas:

ISA,. Community cohesion and pupil voice initiatives. We have gone from exchanging just emails and powerpoints, to using videoconferencing tools, animations, blogs, cameras, plus interactive tools such as the Nintendo Wii.

Why would you recommend registering with eTwinning?

International links enhance the curriculum, providing a real focus for MFL teaching and broadening children’s knowledge and experience of Europe. The motivation of children and staff are increased.

What benefits has running an international link through ICT brought to your school?

The children are able to link with their partners and use ICT creatively. He communication with their partners is used to inform the actual visit to their partners in Spain. Blogs are used for communication and sharing products, photos, video etc. We use etwinning as a tool for our Comenius project.

Specialist areas:

Full ISA. We have used animation tools to create pieces of work for the project and shared them through etwinning and blogging.

Why would you recommend registering with eTwinning?

eTwinning is a simple yet powerful tool that can be easily integrated into any classroom. It provides a great opportunity for schools to find partners and develop the international dimension, motivating students and teachers to create projects which are interesting and fun. Furthermore, it’s free and safe and encourages the sharing of great ideas and initiatives.

What benefits has running an international link through ICT brought to your school?

It has enabled our pupils to develop their ICT skills in a fun and creative way. It has given them a realistic context for utilising their ICT skills and made the experience meaning full and of value. It has also allowed us to integrate ICT more completely into our curriculum and encouraged us to use new technologies more readily.

Why would you recommend registering with eTwinning?

eTwinning is an excellent tool to incorporate the global dimension into the curriculum.   One of its major strengths is that it allows projects to cover any (or several!)  curriculum areas; rather than being limited to just one.

What benefits has running an international link through ICT brought to your school?

Our children have been introduced to the wider world through direct contact with children of their own age.  Our projects have helped us to be awarded the full International Schools Award.  In addition our staff have received valuable CPD and have also had their horizons widened!

Specialist areas:

As a Lead Teacher for ECaW I am particularly keen on incorporating literacy into every element of a project.  Also, I have experience of applying for, and achieving, the International School Award. I will be holding regular ‘eTwinning’ network meetings at my school; newcomers will be welcomed!  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more help or information!
