Anne Garner

I am a head teacher of a small infant school in Telford & Wrekin LA. My specialisms include ICT for learning. My school has been a SLICT host school in the past and holds the Becta ICT Mark. Our curriculum is broad, very rich and creative. Staff are innovative and use action research to evaluate the impact of what we do. Our pupils are all introduced to another language and learn French during curriculum time. We have pupils in the Early Years Foundation stage and are keen to ensure the curriculum offered is appropriate to the needs of these young pupils. Our school is set in a semi-rural setting. It is very small and so we always have to teach to mixed age groups. I am a trained mentor for Initial Teacher Training.

Tools I use for eTwinning include digital media - Photo story, Movie Maker and Apple applications. I am confident using both Apple Mac and PC applications. In addition I make use of email, The Twin Space, and for contact with teachers (not pupils) Facebook and NING. Our school has a website and is developing the Learning Platform linked to the website. We plan to develop the use of Pod casting this year.
