I have used eTwinning as a way of engaging disaffected youngsters aged 13 – 16 years old in my Biology classes with great success.  The students have created their own personas using Vokis and Wikispaces and exchanged materials with their peers around Europe on binge drinking.  This was a unique experience for some of these students to ‘meet’ other students from other countries who have the same needs and experiences.  The whole etwinning set up is fantastic for enhancing the curriculum and for Scotland, greatly compliments the ethos and aspirations of A Curriculum for Excellence.

This session we have moved away from the Health and Social wellbeing side into exercise and eco issues.  Students have to design an eco garden model using recycle materials and share this with the partners via an animation and photographs to compare how eco friendly the schools are. I also have a Comenius project on Citizenship, Enterprise and Comparative Health set up on the etwinning space to swop materials

Elaine Smith
Elaine Smith I am a primary teacher, so cover all areas of the curriculum in my teaching.  So far with the projects I have been involved in, we have used mainly PowerPoint, but hope to include blogs as the projects develop.

George Glass
George Glass

As Headteacher at Cauldeen Primary School I am actively involved in supporting eTwinning, the creative use of ICT to support linking, and International Education.

Jacqui Crooks

I have been running “Culture in a Box” with S1 pupils since September 2007 – twinned with College Lafayette, Brioude, France. This project has been so successful that we have decided to extend it for a second year.

I am also in the early stages of twinning with a school in Normandy with 2 new S1 classes. I have found eTwinning to be a wonderful way to deliver ICT.  Skills are being developed on a “need to use” basis and pupil motivation is increased.

Michael Purves
Michael Purves I am a Primary School Teacher in East Lothian. I became involved with eTwinning in May 2007 and since then have formed a very successful partnership with a Finnish School. We have just received the eTwinning Quality Label for our ongoing project work (‘A Healthy Passport’). I have set up various successful blog projects with schools in Finland, Denmark and France in the past. I'm currently working with Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway. I'm happy to help in any way with blogging issues, how to set up links etc.I’ve also trained as an International Masterclasser with Learning Teaching Scotland and have been involved with project work in this context.

Sharon Tonner
Sharon Tonner I have extensive experience of working collaboratively with partners in Europe and globally to connect our children through meaningful projects.  I also have vast experience of delivering seminars and workshops related to using technologies to connect with others.  My current role as Lecturer in Primary Education (ICT) provides me with the latest methods of using ICT that is manageable with children and is embedded in other areas of the curriculum.
