Thailand English Teaching Project 2013
What is it about?
Are you an undergraduate, postgraduate student or recent graduate interested in assisting with English teaching in Thailand?
This project offers students and recent graduates from participating Universities in the UK the chance to work as a language assistant with a Thai teacher in their classrooms and support extra activities outside classroom hours. After an orientation programme in Bangkok, you will travel to your assignment, which could be in any province of Thailand. You could be working in a school, vocational college or adult education colleges.

How much will it cost me?
You will need to cover:
- return airfares UK-Thailand-UK
- cost of Thai visa

travel to UK pre-departure briefing

travel and medical insurance

cost of CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check in the UK.
In return, you will be provided with:
- orientation programme in Bangkok with accommodation
- transport between Bangkok and your workplace at the start/end of contract
- accommodation at or near your workplace
- lunch during school days
- a monthly allowance of 10,000 Thai Baht (Around 215 GBP).
Am I eligible?
Initial recruitment is done through participating UK Higher Education Institutions. You will have to be an undergraduate or postgraduate student or a recent graduate at a participating University. The list of participating institutions will be released soon.
What is the availability?
Last year, 65 undergraduates engaged in the project and traveled to Thailand with the British Council. This year there will be more than 300 placements available.
What is the application deadline?
Application deadline for 2013 has now passed and will reopen in 2014.
