What is it about?

Are you studying in further or higher education in Northern Ireland and interested in having a scholarship year in the USA? If so, this opportunity is for you.

 

Where can I go?

There are over 100 Universities and Colleges in the USA that offer scholarship places.

 

What does it cost?

The British Council can help pay for flights to and from the USA, term-time accommodation, meals and related academic materials. Tuition is provided free of charge. All you are required to cover are insurance and visa costs.

 

Am I eligible?

We welcome applications from full-time, pre-final year students from any discipline, degree or HND courses in Northern Ireland.  

If you have already engaged in other British Council funded activities, such as Erasmus or the Language Assistants Programme, you may not be eligible.

 

What is the availability?

There are between 70-80 places allocated to this scheme each year.

 

What is the application deadline?

The deadline is November 2013 (exact date TBC) for applicants wishing to start their studies in September 2014. There is more information available on the official webpage.
