Radio Station Competition – The Selector

What is it about?

We are offering six student radio stations the chance to produce and present their weekly radio show, The Selector.

The Selector has been showcasing the best in new music from the UK since 2011, covering all types of music from indie to dubstep, folk to electro. The show features interviews, mixes and live sessions and is heard in over thirty-nine countries around the world.

Each of the six chosen student radio stations will:
  • be given a special Kit version of The Selector containing all the individual parts of the show (songs, jingles plus a script). This will enable each station to make their own bespoke version of The Selector, using their own presenter, and being as creative as they wish with all the fantastic Selector content.
  • receive an in-depth production training session from Folded Wing, the award-winning independent production company who currently produce The Selector for The British Council
  • get the chance for a new Selector artist to come and perform at (or record a session for) their student radio station
  • have the opportunity to become a regular content provider for The Selector.

Am I eligible?

You must be able to apply on behalf of a UK student radio station. Each winning station will need to broadcast The Selector weekly for a six month period, from Wednesday 16 October 2013 to Wednesday 16 April 2014.
