European Voluntary Service
What is it about?
Volunteer abroad and have all your fares and expenses paid for! This is your chance to meet new people, travel somewhere exciting and gain valuable international experience for your CV.
You could volunteer with organisations in a range of different areas from anti-discrimination, the environment or even media and communications.
It is the final chance to apply for Youth in Action funding. Complete your application by 1 October 2013!
Where can I go?
You could volunteer in Europe and beyond with one of our partner host organisations. If your project involves non-European Union countries you may need to check visa requirements.
What does it cost?
The Youth in Action funding will generally cover everything from travel and accommodation to food and insurance. You even get a small monthly allowance. You may need to cover a small administration fee in certain circumstances.
Am I eligible?
You will need to be aged 18-30 and living in the UK. There are also volunteering opportunities available for 16-17 year olds.
For how long can I volunteer?
From just two weeks up to twelve months.
How can I apply?
This may seem confusing but trust us, it’s not!
There will be two parties involved in your application process: a UK sending organisation that will be in charge of sending you abroad, and a host organisation that will provide the volunteering work once you arrive to the country of your choice. You will need to search the European database on European Voluntary Service accredited organisations to find both an available sending organisation as well as an available host organisation.
Visit Guidance and Support for details of organisations that can help you with any questions on the European Voluntary Service. It is the final chance to apply for Youth in Action funding. Complete your application by 1 October 2013!
