English Teaching Graduate Scheme
What is it about?
Are you a recent graduate who is thinking about a career in teaching English? This scheme is designed to help graduates get the qualifications they need to work abroad. The qualification is called Trinity CertTESOL or Cambridge CELTA.
Where can I go?
There are multiple test centres around the UK. Once you have these qualifications you can apply through Erasmus to teach in any country in the European Union. You can even teach anywhere in the world if you apply for an ELT position!
What does it cost?
The actual price of the qualification varies, so see below for more details.
If you apply successfully to this scheme, and complete the course, you could receive a grant of as much as £600!
Am I eligible?
You must be:
- A university graduate within the last three years
- Not employed as a teacher, or currently engaging or about to enroll in other higher education courses at the time of application
- A UK national.
What is the availability?
Availability is based on the examining centre you choose to hold your course at.
What is the application deadline?
There are three deadlines for this scheme per year, usually in April, July and October.
