English Language Assistants

 

What is it about?

Are you interested in teaching English abroad? If you are in your second to final year of university or have recently graduated this could be the programme for you.

Becoming a Language Assistant is an experience that will last a lifetime. You will leave with the confidence and skills to stand out from the crowd, and also have the satisfaction of seeing your students’ confidence and ability improve in spoken English.

 

Where can I go?

You can choose from the following 14 countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland and Spain.

 

What does it cost?

You will be paid for your work as an English Language Assistant, however there may be some initial cost for visas and work permits. The details vary depending on which country you wish to work in.

 

Am I eligible?

  • You must be either at university in your second to final year, or have recently left
  • You must be a native-level English speaker
  • Foreign language skills required (AS-Level/Higher or equivalent) for all countries except China
  • You do not have to be doing a languages degree, applicants are welcome from any discipline.

 

What is the availability?

There are a limited number of posts available for each country, however these vary from year to year.

 

What is the application deadline?

The application date opens in October 2013 and closes 2nd December 2013. 
But please be aware that depending on which country you apply to there may be a second recruitment phase after this.
